Lauren Elam is a Virginia-based composer and arranger, versatile in many differing ensemble groups, with performing backgrounds in choir, strings, collaborative piano, and other miscellaneous instruments. Other modes to describe her musical character and style are warm, euphoric, and "crunchy," with accents of jazz. Her music captures the essence of nostalgia, as many of her collegiate peers have compared her compositions to video games and Anime-esque sounding.
As an aspiring film and video game composer, Lauren possesses a profound interest and respect for how the musical intricacies encapture emotion and atmosphere that correlate through the diverse modes of animation, drawing inspiration from composers such as Kevin Penkin, Hiroyuki Sawano, Masakatuse Takagi, Lee Byeong Woo, Nobuo Uematsu, and Koichi Sugiyama.
